Improving the Knowledge Graph

The current version of the graph already provides a consistent RDF representation of the COCONUT dataset and connects it to external sources like Wikidata and DBpedia.
However, several improvements are possible.

  • Automatic Updates: Incorporating new data dumps automatically would ensure continuous freshness of the graph.
  • Extended Linking: Additional connections to other Knowledge Graphs (e.g., NuBBE[KG]) could further enrich the data.
  • Descriptors: Newly introduced descriptor classes require expert validation to guarantee their scientific quality.
  • User Interfaces: A graphical frontend for semantic search and visualization would make the graph more accessible for researchers.
  • Machine Learning: Future work could include predictive modeling of molecular properties or the automatic generation of vocabularies.

These improvements would significantly increase the usability, interoperability, and long-term sustainability of the Knowledge Graph.
